How To Activate Tabbed Browsing In Safari Web Browser

If you want to enable tab browsing, just follow the instructions:

Open Safari browser.

At the top of the browser window, you will see the „Edit“ tab. Click on it and choose „Preferences“ from the bottom of the list.

The section „Tabs“ will be automatically selected and there you can see several settings and the most important is „Open pages in tabs instead of windows“. From a drop-down menu, choose „Always“.

Also, there is the option – „When a new tab of window opens, make it active“ – this setting allow the pages to stay active in the background even if you are working on another tab.

Then after the tabbed browsing is enabled, you can start using it. Go to „File“ section at the top of the Safari window and click on „New Tab“.

If you want to quickly open a new tab, use the key combination Ctrl + T. Another simple way to open a new tab is to click on the „+“ at the end of the tab bar line.

At the end, you need to change just one thing.

Go to „Preferences“ and select „General“ tab. There you need to find the option „New tabs open with“ and from drop-down menu click on „Empty page“.
