Google Maps for Android now gets offline navigation.

One of the most useful apps is keep getting better. A few days ago, Google Maps for iOS got spoken traffic alerts, navigation feature that was already available for Android users.

Now, Google is rolling out offline search and navigation that will allow users to find directions, even if their Internet connection is spotty, or if there is no connection at all.

“Now you can download an area of the world to your phone, and the next time you find there’s no connectivity—whether it’s a country road or an underground parking garage—Google Maps will continue to work seamlessly,” Google says.

Google announced offline functionality during Google I/O in May, and the new features are rolling out now. Offline functionality will be available for Android users later today, and it will come to iOS soon as Google says.
