How to set up YouTube Kids

As we mentioned, you can set up YouTube Kids in the browser, or using the app on your smartphone or tablet. Follow the steps for the method suitable for you.

Here is how to set it up in the browser:

• Open your favorite browser and go to YouTube Kids
• Click on the option “I’m a parent”

• You will see a Welcome screen, click Next
• On the next screen, you will see a message “Sign in with parent’s account”, click Next
• Now sign in with your account

• Enter your details and click Sign in
• Create a profile for your kid. Enter the kid’s name, age, and birth month

• Based on the age of your kid, you will get to choose the recommended content settings, so click on the one suitable

• Finally, decide if you want the search to be turned on or off

The profile is all set up and ready to be used by your kid!

 

You can also set up the profile for your kid using YouTube Kids app. So, the first step is to download the app from the Play Store (Android), or App Store (iOS). Once you get the app, follow the steps below:

• Open YouTube Kids app on your smartphone
• On the first screen, tap on “I’m a parent”

• Enter the year you were born

• Next, sign in with a parent account
• Enter your details and click Sign in
• Enter the kid’s details and choose the recommended content settings.
