Google Chrome

Google Chrome developers decided to make our lives easier and implemented the option directly into the address bar.

As soon as you enter your Gmail page, in the address bar of Chrome browser will be a new icon in the form of two gray rhombs. Click on it and select “Allow” from the drop-down menu, and click on “Done”. This action tells the browser that when you click on the email address, another tab opens to create a new email.

In this browser, the desired option is hidden in the settings page.

Click on menu icon on the top-right of the Mozilla Firefox Window and open “Settings”. Navigate to the “Applications” section. There, in the “Content type” list, look for the line “mailto”. Click on “Use Pick an app” drop-down list, and select “Use Gmail”.
