Microsoft has released Windows 10 back in July and took 9% of OS market share. One of the renewal on Windows 10 is a new browser, called Microsoft Edge. It’s a new browser. There are many features offered by this browser, such as the faster, safer, and annotations browsing performance. But, interestingly, the adoption of Microsoft Edge is not as good as Windows 10 Adoption.
According to the Softpedia report, the Microsoft Edge adoption reaches 2.81%. It shows a very small increase, only 0.15% since October. The number one is placed by Internet Explorer 11 (24.76%), followed by Google Chrome (21.20%) of the market share, while Mozilla holds more than twice of Microsoft Edge share (6.38%).
The low number of the Microsoft’s new browser adoption does not mean it’s not succeed. Actually, it can beat Opera, the old player in the browsing world with only 1.29% of difference, which means Microsoft Edge is better. At this moment, Microsoft is still developing one of the Microsoft Edge’s features, the Extension third app, which has the potential to make their market share better.
