Palm was founded as an independent company in 1992. It was bought by US Robotics in 1995 and then by 3com in 1996. Palm was spun off in 2000 and split into half in 2002, which was then renamed as PalmOne. Palm was then merged with Handspring in 2003, and it was again branded as Palm. They launched WebOS in 2009, which was sold to HP in 2010, and it got canceled in 2011. The WebOS again was declared as open source in 2012 and the leftover of Palm Company was sold to LG in 2013. Very few companies are seen to have a rebirth like Palm.

According to TCL, Palm is a company that has always been a sign of a lot of emotions and affection. This is the reason why TCL has taken the decision to set a new division for Palm. They aim to make the Palm brand as the largest scale crowd sourced project. As Palm is the pioneer of mobile technology so it is the time to bring them back as new Palm Inc.
