When you visit a web-site where you must register or log in, Microsoft Edge asks if you want to save the username and password so that the next time you visit the site, Microsoft Edge can automatically fill your login details. Password saving is enabled by default in Microsoft Edge, but this feature can be disabled. We are going to show you how to prevent Microsoft Edge to save the passwords.

How To Prevent Microsoft Edge To Save The Passwords

To disable the password saving in Microsoft Edge browser, open the menu with settings by clicking the “Advanced” button (icon in the form of three dots) in the upper right corner of the browser window.

In the menu that opens, click “Settings”.

Scroll down and click on “Advanced settings”.

In the next window, under the section “Privacy and services”, select “Offer to save passwords” and set it to “Off”.

When you disable this function it will not delete your previously saved passwords.

To delete previously saved passwords, click on “Settings” < “Clear browsing data” < “Choose what to clear”.

In the next window, check only the box beside “Passwords” and click on “Clear”.

Also, you can manage the saved passwords. To do this, go to the “Advanced” < View advanced settings” and find the section “Manage saved passwords”.

In the Password Management window, you can remove the desired password for a specific site by clicking on “x”.

You can also change the username and password for a particular site, just click on the desired site and in the next window, change the username and password and click on “Save” button.

Another way to view and delete web passwords is by using the classic Control Panel. With right mouse button press and hold on “Start” and click on “Control Panel”. Then click on “User Accounts” < “Manage your credentials”.

There you will see website and username. Click on the website and if you want to remove saved password click on “Remove”.
