How To Archive A Book Permanently From The Kindle?

The option to archive a book permanently from your Kindle allows you to remove a book from the Kindle or your Kindle app. Through this option, it is implied that as you have already bought the book and you have the rights to access & read a particular book, it will still remain affixed to your Amazon account. As such, you can re-download the book later on when you wish to read the book again. However, this technique of archiving the book on your Kindle will not be occupying any extra room on your Kindle device. This technique is especially useful when your device is running out of space and you wish to download any new book.

Here are simple steps to achieve the same:

Step 1:

Navigate the proper book that you wish to archive that is in question. If you wish to delete a recent book, advance to the Home Screen. Otherwise, you can go to the search box or Library to search for the book title(s) you wish to delete.

Step 2:

Now, hold & press the particular name of the book for some seconds unless a box with a list of options comes up. It must be noted that this activity works only for the Kindle devices that have touchscreen-enabled features. In case you have a device with direction controls, for the models before Kindle Paperwhite, you can press the left direction button to highlight the title of the book to bring the list of options.

Step 3:

Within the list of options, you will come across an option “Remove from Device”. You can select this option and then, confirm your decision to delete the book. You can download the deleted book again by entering your login credentials.

These series of steps works well for your Kindle app as well. However, you must note that the Kindle App that is not purchased from the Kindle Store can result in the permanent deletion of the particular book. This is because the book will not be stored in the cloud then.

 

How To Remove Books From A Kindle Permanently?

In case you wish to delete a particular book permanently from the Amazon account, then you can do so with ease. Amazon offers you the freedom to remove books from a Kindle permanently. This action can prove helpful when you wish to store textbooks and documents in your Kindle that are more important than others. As such, you can delete the non-important ones permanently.

Note: When you delete a book from your Kindle permanently, it will be wiped completely from your account. As such, if you want to have it back, you will need to buy the book once again from Amazon.

Here are the steps to delete books from your Kindle:

Step 1:

Log into your Amazon account using your login credentials. Then, you can advance to the section namely “Manage Your Content & Devices”. Here, you can view all the titles of the books purchased from your Amazon account available on Kindle. You can also view additional information about the kind of downloads and when you had downloaded them.

Step 2:

Search for the particular content or book that you wish to delete. Select the particular titles that you wish to delete. You can do this by clicking on the checkbox under the option “Select”. You can spot this option on the left side of the page.

Step 3:

At the top of this list, you can see a button that says “Delete”. This option will become selectable once you have clicked on a particular title. You can confirm the permanent deletion of the particular book by clicking this option.

You must note that the deletion process through these series of steps is irreversible. As such, you must take proper care before confirming the action.

If you wish to re-read the particular book, you will have to purchase the same from Amazon all over again.
