How To Reset Google Chrome
Resetting the Chrome will help you to quickly get rid of a variety of issues and undesirable changes such as a change of the search engine, pop-up windows, annoying ads, occasional redirection to websites you do not need. And this operation is not dangerous to your personal data, i.e. the reset does not delete saved bookmarks and passwords.
The following guide will show how to do it properly. To restore the settings to default, follow these instructions:
Launch Google Chrome and open the main menu by clicking on the button in the form of three horizontal lines (the button will show the basic Google Chrome menu).
In this menu, select “Settings”. In the browser, the address will be chrome: //settings, which allow you to set or change the basic settings of Google Chrome.
Now you need to scroll down the page. Use the scroll bar located at the right end of the screen until you see the “Show advanced settings” in the bottom of the Google Chrome settings.
Click on it. You will see a list of additional settings of Google Chrome. Again, scroll down until you see heading “Reset settings”.
Click on the button “Reset settings”. Google Chrome will show you a window asking you to confirm your action.
Confirm your decision by clicking the Reset button. I want to remind you that your bookmarks and passwords will not be deleted. After pressing this button, your browser settings will be reset to the original state.
You can also do the same procedure of reset using the special address shortcut.
Launch Google Chrome and in the address bar, type the following text chrome://settings/resetProfileSettings. Press the Enter key. The browser will show you a window that will ask you to confirm your action. Then just press “Reset” button.
