Pokemon Go just introduced its first two Legendary Pokemon after the chaotic and confusing Chicago event. But be careful, because you have to participate and win Legendary Raid Battles to catch them. Anyway, the Pokemon in question are Lugia and Articuno, and seeing how they’re new to the game, you might be a bit confused about them still. Here is some info on their CP and stats to help you in the game.

Lugia

  • Maximum CP at Level 20: 2056
  • Maximum CP at Level 30: 3084
  • Maximum CP at Level 39: 3547
  • Maximum CP: 3598
  • Attack 193, Defense 323, Stamina 212
  • DEF x STA 68476.

If Lugia is trained adequately, it can be quite a valuable Pokemon to use in a Raid Battle. The optimum CP it needs to reach is 3006, and you can also teach it a few psychic moves. After that, your Lugia will become a true force to be reckoned with. However, it also has an issue in its lack of DPS, which most trainers seek.

As far as Lugia’s moves, the opinions are split. Some trainers claim that the perfect set would be Extrasensory plus Future Sight, but others would replace the latter with Sky Attack. Test them out yourself and see what you think.

Articuno

  • Maximum CP at Level 20: 1676
  • Maximum CP at Level 30: 2514
  • Maximum CP at Level 39: 2891
  • Maximum CP: 2933
  • Attack 192, Defense 249, Stamina 180
  • DEF x STA 44820

Articuno is a great Ice Pokemon, there’s no doubt about that. But in Raid Battles its position and importance are questionable, seeing that only a few Tier 3+ Raid Bosses are actually sensitive to ice attacks. These are Venusaur, Rhydon, Lugia and Zapdos, but even for them there are other types of more effective attacks.
