Finally, Microsoft has officially announced Lumia 650 via their blog. It’s a mid-range smartphone, and one level higher than Lumia 550. In their blog, Microsoft gives tag lines for this device as a smartphone with the aluminum frame, Windows 10, and has a price under $200. These 3 things make Lumia 650 better than 550, which doesn’t have the aluminum material on its body.
Regarding the design, Microsoft adopts a Lumia design language to make it looks similar as Lumia 950 or maybe better. The removable back cover will ease you to change the battery, SIM card, and SD card. Interestingly, and thanks to the aluminum frame it looks premium and it’s stronger than 550, which is made of plastic.
Moreover, the specifications of Lumia 650 is a bit better than Lumia 550. The other interesting thing is, it has an OLED technology with 720p on a 5-inch display. The device adopts a Snapdragon 212 with Quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU clocked at 1.3 GHz, for its processor. The RAM is 1GB, but it has 16GB of internal storage and can be expanded up to 200GB through SD card slot. When it comes to the camera it has 8 megapixels for its rear camera, and 5 megapixels for its front facing camera. Both cameras have aperture f/2.2.
Microsoft marketing highlights Lumia 650 as a smart choice device for your business, as you can see on a short video. The video shows the quality of Lumia 650 specs and parts, also some apps that support the business productivities in Windows 10 mobile, such as Office, OneDrive, and more. Unfortunately, the device doesn’t have one key feature, which is quite important, that is a Continuum feature. The low-cost processor and limited memory on it do not allow Lumia 650 to have a Continuum feature.
